Life begun with blackest darkness,
Eyes thrown open with hottest fire.
Thoughts annealed with clearest vision,
Hearts confined with strongest chains.
Strength renewed with surest spirit;
Absolution, the Scorpion's string.

- The Remembrance, Passage 24, Verse 37, Lines 11-16

Introduction: Vriska was born a vat-bred Warrior of Clan Goliath Scorpion in the 3040s. From an early age she faced a life of constant testing, forging her as hard as ferro-fibrous armor. The weak were reassigned to lower castes, or died. Yet she never lost her flexibility of mind and deviousness, despite living in a society where honor was more valued than anything.

When she was old enough to take her Trial Of Position, she destroyed two other mechs, immediately earning the rank of Star Commander. Upon her graduation, she took the drug Necrosia, derived from the scorpion's venom, and saw her first visions. She chose to embark on a quest as a Seeker, to earn glory by seeking the relics of the Star League. And so, ready to make her mark on an unsuspecting galaxy, Vriska set out, in search of legendary Star League terraforming device...

Hark children of the Clans,
To the wisdom of Kerensky and your forebears,
Know what has come before;
Remember it as you strive toward the future.

- The Remembrance, Passage 1, Verse 1, Lines 1-4

The Clans: It is the thirty first century, and mankind is still at war. It was not always this way. Once, the Star League united all the powers of the Inner Sphere and Periphery under one government. The peace was maintained by the Star League Defense Force and for a while, the galaxy thrived. Then treachery brought the League down and each of the five great houses declared themselves the proper heir to the League's throne.

Disgusted, General Alexander Kerensky took 80% of the SLDF into exile where they could not be traced. These exiled were forged over the course of hundreds of years into The Clans, a society which holds honor above all other virtues. Each named for an animal or quality the Kerenskies wished their children to emulate, they are led by their machine-born Warrior caste. Clan life is one of constant testing via trial by combat. There is no place in the Warrior caste for the weak.

They descended on the Inner Sphere again in 3049, seeking to rebuild the Star League by force. Though they were stopped temporarily, they still swept aside armies with their superior Warriors and machines.

Clan Goliath Scorpion seeks to rebuild the Star League through acquisition of its relics. Considered an eccentric Clan, anyone who thinks that makes them harmless hasn't met Vriska yet.

Like shining stars the Warriors descended,
A fiery rain to purify and punish,
Yet even angels can be corrupted,
Brought low by base desires.
- The Remembrance, Passage 25, Verse 3, Lines 9-11

Her Sting: The preeminent Warrior's weapon is the battlemech, quasi-humanoid war machines ranging from twenty to a hundred tons, piloted by elite soldiers known as mechwarriors. Though she piloted a Fire Scorpion in her sibko days, Vriska's current mech is her much loved Stalking Spider, "Serket".

A rare quad mech, Serket weighs in at fifty tons and is capable of speeds of 120 KPH and jumps of up to 150 meters. Its main armanent is a massive particle projection canon. It replaces the standard model's short range missiles with a single pod of the new advanced tactical missile system, mounting regular, inferno and scatterable mine munitions. The two pulse lasers are replaced by a whopping eight extended range micro lasers, a pattern that imitates the enhanced imaging tattoo over the remains of her right eye.

On the black Seam they dance,
Moonlit steel gleaming in the twilight.
Black and Gold, red and silver,
Their clothes stir the still night air.
Five steps taken, five cuts drawn,
The Scars of Moreau's tribulation.
They pay heed to our debt, to our past,
Reborn with the death of our mother.

- The Remembrance, Passage, 316, Verse 12, Lines 1-8

Major Differences From Canon (besides the obvious): This version of Vriska has no last name (the only one a clanswoman can have is a bloodname and that must be earned in a special trial), though her mech has her canon last name. She obviously has no horns, and though she's somewhat pale, her skin is still a recognizably human color.

While Clan Warriors generally don't form romantic attachments, they do engage in trysts freely and form close bonds with their sibkin (those raised in the same sibling company, from the same batch).

Clanners find the use of contractions vulgar. Though she's not too prudish to use them, she'll do so sparingly, for maximum effect.

Vriska has the green tattoos of an enhanced imaging system, though aside from the patch over the remains of her right eye they are not visible while she's clothed.

She retains the artificial arm and hand, lost in a Trial.

Obviously the taboo on buckets is not present.

She's nineteen years of age.

Surprisingly, she is familiar with a version of the internet! It's called the chatterweb to her, and she's spoken with AU versions of the other trolls over it.
